Why are Travelocity rates for an AA flight + hotel cheaper ... - Reddit

I'm looking at flying out to Las Vegas next week. If I book the trip through American Airlines directly OR a flight only through Travelocity, the flight is right at $500; however, if I book the flight PLUS 4 nights in a Vegas hotel/casino, there are rates as low as $350, all inclusive.
